About This Product
Since its beginnings in 1873, Epiphone has developed a tradition and built a solid reputation for making high-quality instruments and amplifiers. The original Art Deco styled 1939 Century Lap Steel Guitar was designed by Herb Sunshine, Epiphone's legendary salesman and electronics developer.
Now Epiphone the Electar, a Hawaiian lap steel inspired by the "1939", features the same body profile as the vintage original with a one-piece Mahogany body and neck with an Ebony finish. The back of the body has an inset non-slip rubber pad. The neck sports a Plexiglass fingerboard with a traditional "1939" Art Deco Replica inlay design and 28 frets that are properly set for great intonation at any position. The headstock features the vintage metal Epiphone badge used on Epiphone's earliest electric archtop guitars. The 2.5" aluminium nut is raised slide and the Wilkinson "Deluxe" machine heads have ivory coloured buttons. The Electar is loaded with a powerful Epiphone 500B "Blade" Humbucker with master volume and tone controls. The bridge and tailpiece are aluminium with a vintage-style nickel-plated steel cover. The Electar comes with a deluxe gig bag.
