About This Product
This is a vinyl LP pressing of the self-titled album by Cigarettes After Sex. To reflect their dreamy romanticism in music, frontman Greg Gonzalez chose to bypass conventional studio methods for his band, which includes Randy Miller on bass, Jacob Tomsky on drums, and Phillip Tubbs on keyboards. Drawing inspiration from The Cowboy Junkies' "The Trinity Session" (recorded in a church with a single microphone), Cigarettes After Sex recorded most of the album in just three days at the Sweatshop rehearsal space in Bushwick. The exception is "Each Time You Fall in Love," which was recorded in the Beekman's stairway after hours, capturing the essence of screen lovers in every warm note. Like the best movies, "Cigarettes After Sex" casts a captivating spell.
