About This Product
This is a cassette tape version of Metallica's EP, The $5.98 E.P. - Garage Days Re-Revisited, originally released on August 21, 1987, by Elektra Records. Metallica, a highly influential heavy metal band from the '80s, is known for bringing the genre back to its roots with a raw and unpolished image, shunning typical rockstar pretenses. This EP, their first release featuring new bassist Jason Newsted after the tragic death of Cliff Burton, includes covers of late-'70s and early-'80s British heavy metal and hardcore punk songs. Recorded in just six days in Los Angeles, the tracks were initially rehearsed in drummer Lars Ulrich's garage. The band used speed and volume not just for impact, but to complement their complex compositions.
