About This Product
This is a green-colored vinyl LP pressing of "Somethin' Else" by Cannonball Adderley. Julian Edwin "Cannonball" Adderley (September 15, 1928 – August 8, 1975) was a jazz alto saxophonist prominent in the hard bop era of the 1950s and 1960s. Adderley is renowned for his work with trumpeter Miles Davis, particularly on the 1958 album "Somethin' Else." This album was recorded during Adderley's time with the Miles Davis Sextet and is notable for being one of the few post-1955 appearances of Miles Davis as a sideman. Davis not only played several of the first solos but also composed the bluesy title track and, according to the liner notes, selected most of the material. "Autumn Leaves" remained in Davis's repertoire, and "Love for Sale" was recorded by the Davis Sextet a little over two months later.
