This is a 2023 reissue vinyl LP pressing of Sea Horse by Akira Miyazawa Quartet. Experience the historic debut analog release of legendary Japanese tenor saxophonist Akira Miyazawa's rare live album, recorded in 1989 and featuring the impeccable clarity of a studio recording. Backed by a stellar ensemble including drummer Masahiko Kozu, pianist Harumi Takeuchi, and bassist Shunsuke Takeuchi, Miyazawa delivers transcendent performances across classics like "Green Dolphin Street," Ellington's "In a Sentimental Mood," and originals such as "Baby Seahorse." Dr. Jazz's Osamu Uchida and leading jazz journalist Noriyoshi Koyama provide illuminating commentary, offering insight into Miyazawa's timeless artistry and profound influence on Japan's jazz landscape.
