Founded by Roland Meinl in 1951 and initially producing wind instruments, the first MEINL cymbals appeared in 1952 and were cut from large metal sheets, hammered, lathed and drilled by hand by Roland Meinl himself, who then personally transported them, on the luggage carrier of his bicycle, to the railway station for shipment. MEINL has since gone from such humble origins to become a world leader in percussion instruments.
With a solid resonating body that responds well with the playing surface to deliver full, rich tones and a deep bass spectrum, the Woodcraft Series Cajons from MEINL are constructed from carefully selected wood combinations that will transform your beats into your own musical voice. Made in Europe with an all Birch 13-ply 15mm body, these cajons are ultra-responsive with two internal snare wires and adjustable top corners that enable you to experiment with a wide array of sound options. All Woodcraft Series Cajons have a beautiful matte finish and a hot-branded logo.
