The American rock band originally released their debut studio album on August 25, 1976, through Epic Records. Produced by John Boylan and Tom Scholz, the album broke sales records in August 1976, becoming the best-selling debut LP in the US at the time, and winning the RIAA Century Award as best selling debut album. It has sold at least 17 million copies in the United States alone and at least 20 million worldwide making it one of the best selling debut albums of all time.
